MLB 2012 Season

Marlin's pitching both good(starting pitching has been fantastic) and terrible(blown saves, 2 and 3 walks in innings). Tonight, they gift wrapped the victory to the Mets.:rolleyes:

You could see JJ's anger when the save was blown. Frustrating. But we here in SoCal are in the same boat. The Angels' pen is absolutely pathetic.

Like I already said, the Pirates WILL finish with a winning record this year (if not, they may only be about 2 games under .500). They have really good pitching and just enough offense to win close games.

The Pirates are averaging under 2.2 runs per game so far this year. That's only enough runs when their pitchers give up one or fewer runs!

FYI, there was a two year stretch in Sandy Koufax's career when his record in games in which his teammates scored 2 or fewer runs was 18-4, so yeah, it is possible to win those games, but...

I coached him AND Gabby Sanchez on 2 separate occasions for a south Florida traveling team. GOOD, QUALITY kids.

REALLY???? Well, now I see why they are both so good! I love watching Gabby play, too. But this kid Martinez just has a "quality" about him that brings out only good feelings from me as far as his career is concerned.

They come from good families. ESPECIALLY Gabby. His dad still owns the batting cages just outside the FIU campus. I still go there before my Sunday's games in my "old man's league" ...LOL! Gabby still goes to the cages and helps out his dad.

New York Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a labrum tear in his right shoulder and will be out for the rest of the season.

According to Yankees team doctor Chris Ahmad, who will assist in the surgery, the recovery for such an injury is 12 months from the date of the surgery barring any setbacks in rehab, meaning Pineda will not be available until May 2013 at the earliest.

Marlins bullpen continue to TURN ON fires instead of TURN OFF. Buerhle pitches a beaut going 7 innings and his only mistake is a Wright 2-run homer and down 2-1. 3 run 8th and now they are down 5-1.

Yep. The team with the best record in MLB who has now won their 6th series in a row, the Texas Rangers. :)

And just as I was about the say that the Dodgers have a good bullpen, their closer blows the save by giving up 4 runs in the 9th after being hit in the head with a line drive.

The Dodgers have had a pretty good start as well this year.

Yet ANOTHER blown save for the Angels who have just been swept by the Rays in Tampa. Forget about Albert, the bullpen will be thier downfall this season.

Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford is likely out for three more months, so for the first $30 million or so of his $140 million contract, the Red Sox will have gotten less out of him then they'd get from randomly bringing up a pedestrian triple A player who is not yet ready for prime time. He's already making the JD Drew and John Lackey contracts look good by comparison.

The fact that the Tampa Bay Rays were willing to let him go to free agency & they still made it to the playoffs last season really says a lot about Crawford.
