I wonder, with the tough past he has had...and him being a free agent at the end of this season...WHO will take the leap and offer a long term contract he wants?
I'm really hoping the Rangers re-sign him. He is such a fan favorite and he's my favorite Ranger. His message is so positive and he shows us that he's human like the rest of us.
Excellent point. He will more than likely be commanding a 5 year, $100 million dollar range type contract.

Hamilton and Moye have the ammunition for a strong counteroffensive. Albert Pujols signed for 10 years and $250 million. Joey Votto just landed 10 years and $225 million from Cincinnati. So why should Hamilton accept significantly less?

Well, those buyers are already remorseful. Pujols is hitting .190 with the same number of total bases in his last 19 games as Hamilton had yesterday, and Votto is presently 26th in the National League in Batting and 21st in Slugging and RBI.
Carl Crawford is about zero for $30 million so far, Dunn was the biggest first year bust in big contract history, and Jason Werth, who is respected as a competitor and would be one hell of an addition to a team at about half what he gets paid, in on the DL for the next few months.
Hard as this is to admit, John Lackey gave the best performance payback in the first year of a big contract in the post A-Rod/Manny inflated salary era.
Yeah..but Pujols is notoriously known as a slow starter. I am not sure about Votto. And Crawford, as a hitter, has NEVER put up the offensive numbers that Pujols, Votto or Hamilton have. Crawfords BEST season would be a huge disappointment for Pujols, Votto or Hamilton.
The Red Sox just vastly overpaid for a good player...while those other three are GREAT players.
I think Hamilton merits AT LEAST 5 or 6 years in the same/close to range of Votto and Pujols.
While all that is true, it still won't stop someone from overpaying for Hamilton's services. It may cut the field of potential suitors down a little, but the $$ will still be there somewhere....
I think Facebook stock goes on sale soon, so some dork is about to become wealthy enough to buy and mismanage a baseball team...
But it wasn't nice to see Kershaw lose to the Giants for the first time ever after pitching 8 solid innings and only giving up 2 runs (all on one swing of the bat by Pill).
I'm used to Sherm Feller. Don Rickles used to do a great imitation of the echo when he announced line-ups.

I was gonna post this until the breaking news of the Carl Beane accident came across the airwaves.
This latest Beckett disgrace is getting big play here today. Just another in a long line of dispicable behavior by the dysfunctional Red Flops!!
