Btw, Darvish pretty much fell apart, a 2 run shot to tie the game and then another HR right after that and suddenly he's losing ...

Good choice. I'd go with Koji Uehara.
It's so nice to have a closer who doesn't cause anxiety attacks.
I feel really wired rooting for the Giants. I have to keep fighting my anti-Giants instinct.

Puig is 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2 singles and 2 SB out of the leadoff spot so far today. Perhaps the benching did help?

Have you never had to root for the enemy before in a pennant race? It is quite common these days.
It's really tough rooting for the Yankees when they play Tampa Bay (and earlier the Orioles) when one is a Red Sox fan. It almost causes physical pain
Morneau to the Pirates! It's nice to see Pittsburgh in such fine position this late in the season. I truly hope they make the playoffs. Their fans certainly deserve it!
I like the trade. Gives the bench better hitters.

Before the season started, I wasn't even expecting them to make it to the playoffs. Anything they do above that is a bonus.
