MLB EI 2026

There was an article posted yesterday on one of the Atlanta fan sites that the Braves and DirecTV were "close" to an agreement, but as of yesterday there isn't a formal agreement yet. It said it was "hopeful" one would be reached before the game today. My guess is whoever wrote the article, or passed on the information for it either assumed the agreement would be the same as the other teams under MLB's umbrella, or was just misinformed. The Braves have made clear announcements on other providers, so the fact that there has been nothing from the Braves camp says there isn't yet a deal.

Very odd due to all the DirecTV insider articles stating it was ch 645. I thought they already had an agreement just didnt want to public announcement untill today ...

Yea im very suprized. Why would they put it on " insider" if they didnt have it finalized.

I did see Braves Vision on MLB.TV tonight, on the MLB red Zone channel (don't know what they call it, maybe strike zone, don't know)
Anyways, they split the screen and you see whatever games were going on at the time ...
I don't have an Apple account, so I couldn't watch the Astros on Apple tonight, but was able to watch some of it on that channel ... they are not looking good yet, but, its WAY early.
I did that while waiting on the Tigers west coast game to start.

Still dont see BV on my app but could be cause I live in VA which of outside of "braves country "

It appears DirecTV is treating Braves Vision as a part time game only feed channel like the MLB channels instead of treating it like a RSN at this point in time. Hopefully that will change in the long term. Right now Braves Vision on Spectrum is replaying last night's game, but on DirecTV all you get is the DirecTV logo screen.

So people within the Braves territory aren't getting any content when there is no game on?

Braves Vision isn't programmed as a 24/7 RSN, it has a BravesVision logo slate advertising the start time of the next live game whenever it isn't carrying a live game, pregame, postgame or replay. It doesn't have any filler programming that 24/7 RSNs air like Fight Sports, World Poker Tour, OVW, Sports Stars of Tommorow, local sports radio simulcasts or infomercials.

DIRECTV satellite doesn't carry the replays aired by any of the part time channels, including the other MLB, NHL and NBA team channels, Gulf Coast Sports, MSG Western NY, SNP Plus, NESN Plus, CHSN Plus and the soon to be defunct FanDuel subregions for the Pacers, Spurs, Grizzlies, Hornets, Predators and Hurricanes. With 10 additional MLB channels, they need that shared bandwidth the rest of the day for other part time channels, including recent additions like UEFA Champions League, a 3rd Prime Video channel, Netflix MLB and Apple TV's F1 coverage.
They also only activate the alternate feeds for the MLB, NFL and NHL Networks when they are carrying a live game for blacked out areas, they don't activate them when the alternate content is a replay or random best of shows.

Correct. You get the live games, but no replays, etc. that Spectrum and possibly other provider subscribers are getting. At this point they don't have other programming available, but they imply it is coming down the road. Hopefully after the Fan Duel channels shut down following the NBA/NHL seasons they will pick up some of the other Atlanta teams and go 24/7.

Just curious, is this the same on DirecTV Streaming too or is the limitation just on satellite?

The streaming server is ingesting the feeds as is, but I don't know if streaming customers see the slate and replays for BravesVision or if it redirects them to the "There's No Broadcast Airing at this time" slide.

The Gracenote supplied data for BravesVision just has "Braves Baseball Sign Off" whenever there isn't a live game, so they haven't even told the listings providers about the replay schedule.
