With the upcoming theatrical release of Rob Zombie’s much anticipated re-imagining of the slasher classic HALLOWEEN opening nationwide on August 31st, VOOM’s MONSTERS HD —television’s first 24-hour high-definition horror and creature feature channel— celebrates Halloween early this year with a Michael Myers Marathon featuring the first five films in the HALLOWEEN franchise beginning Friday, August 31st at 11PM ET/ 8PM PT/10C.

Ever since director John Carpenter and actress Jamie Lee Curtis made the independent horror classic HALLOWEEN, the masked maniac known as Michael Myers has haunted the silver screen in various “Shapes.” Taking an old William Shatner mask and painting it white, “The Shape” as Michael Myers is sometimes known, continues to be a pop culture icon. Horror fans can now see Michael slashing away sharper than ever in high-definition on MONSTERS HD when it presents the first five films in the HALLOWEEN series, including the Myers-free HALLOWEEN III – SEASON OF THE WITCH.

Films included in Monsters HD’s line-up:

"HALLOWEEN" (1978)
Friday, August 31, 2007 at 11PM ET/8PM PT/10C - TV-MA (D,L,S,V)

Director: John Carpenter. In 1963, little Michael Meyers stabs his sister to death. Fifteen years later, Michael escapes from the asylum and returns to his hometown of Haddonfield on Halloween night while being pursued himself by his psychiatrist Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasence). HALLOWEEN is stylish, smart, restrained, and blessed by an unforgettable score (also by Director John Carpenter).

"HALLOWEEN 2" (1981)
Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 12:30AM ET - TV-MA (D,L,S,V)

Director: Rick Rosenthal. This film is the continuation of Halloween night, 1978. Michael Myers searches for Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) in Haddonfield General Hospital, while Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) discovers the grim truth about Michael and Laurie.

"HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH" (1982)
Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 2:05AM ET - TV-MA (D,L,S,V)

Director: Tommy Lee Wallace. In-name- only, this sequel finds a small town doctor (Tom Atkins) trying to uncover the evil secret behind a mask maker (Daniel O' Herlihey) and his popular Halloween masks before Halloween night.

"HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS" (1988)
Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 3:45AM ET - TV-MA (D,L,S,V)

Director: Dwight H. Little. Taking place a decade after the events of the first two HALLOWEEN movies, comatose Michael Myers is transferred to a new psychiatric center. On October 30 (naturally), Michael awakens from his coma to escape from authorities and return to his home in Haddonfield, seeking out his young niece (Danielle Harris) and pursued again by Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasance). This continuation of the original is considered the best of the sequels by many fans.

'HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL MYERS' (1989)
Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 5:15AM ET - TV-MA (D,L,S,V)

Director: Dominique Othenin-Girard. This film takes place a year after the events of HALLOWEEN 4. Michael is still alive! On October 31st, he returns to Haddonfield and continues his search for his niece.
