First up... Heads up for folks in the Eastern Arc...

Here are the EXPECTED channel moves that will happen this week. These moves are scheduled to happen early Thursday morning. Many channels are moving from 72.7 to 61.5 while some channels are moving from 61.5 to 72.7. Another big move is expected next week. SatelliteGuys will post those expected moves as we hear about them.

Rumor Alert - Possible good news for Oprah Fan's it is expected that OWN will launch on DISH Network in HD this Wednesday (and will be available in the lower 48 as well as PR (5119), HI and AK (4905))

Good news for our friends in PR - WAPA is expected to launch in HD this week.

Free Previews starting are... DIY, TNT, TBS, GREEN & TRU. Again expect these by Wednesday afternoon...

UPDATE - This one DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE TRUE! Here is one I don't have confirmed but it is buzz I am hearing.. IFC will be replaced by CI (Crime & Investigation) on Channel 131. IFC is owned by Rainbow Media... (yeah those guys.) I hope this one is NOT true, as I actually enjoy watching The Onion news broadcasts. More as I know it... AGAIN THIS IS A RUMOR!!!!! UPDATE - This one DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE TRUE!

Here is one I don't have confirmed but it is buzz I am hearing.. IFC will be replaced by CI (Crime & Investigation) on Channel 131. IFC is owned by Rainbow Media... (yeah those guys.) I hope this one is NOT true, as I actually enjoy watching The Onion news broadcasts. More as I know it... AGAIN THIS IS A RUMOR!!!!!

I don't watch IFC but I was hoping it would be launched in HD soon so I could at least consider watching it. I heard that the Onion news show was funny. Well, hopefully this rumor becomes false. In the meantime, OWN HD is nice to have, but not a huge deal to me.

This almost seems like a reverse shuffle between 72.7 & 61.5. Seems like they just moved all the HD off 61.5 now they are moving it back. Wow Oprah in HD I be really quick to not watch that one. Yes ONN is a hilarious fake news network.

Switched my Dad from Dish to Directv and had been debating whether or not to do the same before deciding to stay with Dish because I didn't want the hassle and enjoy the Dish receivers. However, removal of IFC would most likely push me over the edge to switch. Just my luck that one of few channels I actually watch -- out of the huge amount of crap channels that I pay for -- would be taken away.

I'll miss iFC. But you can watch the Onion News (if you have a ROKU box) on the Filmon channel. And for those who want AlJazeera English, BBC, France24, CNN International, etc. etc., they are also available on the Nowhere (but it's there, all right!) channel on ROKU, together with scads of TV shows, far too many to list.

What I don't understand is that DISH made a deal to carry a few months ago with Rainbow Media to carry AMC HD. So I thought with that happening, they were over the whole VOOM issue.

I haven't watched anything on IFC for a few years, but, don't we ALREADY have Crime & Investigation? (Not that I EVER watch that!)

I'm really not understanding the 61/72 swap. Does this mean that they finally realized that people with 119/110/61 setups are NOT the minority they claimed they were, and they're not able to switch them all to EA?

I was going to say that Sundance would have been a better alternative than C & I HD. However, I just realized that Rainbow Media owns that one (Sundance Channel) as well since a few years ago. I think it would make more sense to add some type of movie channel rather than C & I HD. Hopefully, they do not give only a downcoverted SD feed of it.

They probably could let a few of those that are not movie channels out of the Platinum pack in my honest opinion. If they do add them to the AT packages, I hope that they add them to the Dish Latino packs as well.

I also wanted to add that I dislike how IFC added commercials. I have to admit that I do not watch it a lot. However, it is always nice to have an uncut movie channel; I just wish they would have stuck with not having commercials. Before the commercials, I was hoping to see it in HD; now, it does not seem to matter to me as much.

I agree with you on this point.. Once you get commercials that qualify's you as a non premum instead of a premium channel. The commercials actually take away the value of the channel.

UGH! I agree. IFC also plays some great new Britcoms, for me it is The IT Crowd, and there is a whole new series of IT episodes that should soon to be aired on IFC. Their movies are good, too. For me, losing The IT Crowd would be the hardest.
