I have been posting this for months, from a inside source and the pure economics of today’s world, that sports leagues are going to the streaming providers to get the price they want.

Amazon and Apple are the only ones with the extra cash right now to make these deals, even in the article it says if ESPN makes a deal, it will be for sharing it with Amazon or Apple, similar to the Big 10 deal-

Are you a fan of Pac-12 sports? We are expecting a new media rights deal any day now, and now it is being reported that Amazon and Apple are two of the three remaining finalists.

According to a report from Forbes, Amazon, Apple, and ESPN are the three finalists to get rights to Pac-12 Football games starting this fall.

Also, CBS Sports is reporting that most Pac-12 football games next year may be streamed under a new deal even if ESPN wins it may still be split with Amazon or Apple TV+.

Is the Pac-12 really this bad? Why the league has no TV deal without USC and UCLA

Is the Pac-12 really so diminished it can't land a TV deal? A closer look at why the league is struggling ahead of the USC and UCLA's departure.

The Pac 12 has mis-managed its TV rights for decades. The Pac 12 Network has been a fiasco. Now it has sat around and let the other four "power 5" conferences get set up. Pretty much the networks all have all the material they need to fill up each Saturday, w/o dealing with the Pac 12, which, sans UCLA and USC, and thus the LA TV market, is really not that big a deal anymore.

I expect the two Arizona schools, plus Utah and Colorado, to join the Big 12, with the Pac 12 infilling with the likes of UNLV, San Diego State, Boise State, and others. Being behind an internet wall, where most "group of 5" mid-major conferences play, won't help.
