Weather Nationa is coming out with a Mosaic mix channel with local and regional coverage, some local channel coverage of tornados (out of DMA when covering storms) and some national news coverage, all on a Mosaic mix channel like Dish's channel 100 has today

DIRT any chance that after the Olympics is over Dish could change the Hopper HopView Mosaic to something like this for Tornado and Hurricain seasons?
Details from this press release
http://investor.directv.com/m/#deep...7-0bbd-42db-9791-aa294886dcd1","year":"2014"}

Yeah, what would dish use for a weather mosaic? A bunch of TWC reality shows? :( Fully agree with the dumping TWC in favor of Weather Nation, or any other programmer with actual weather reports.

so the request is Dish please carry WeatherNation in addition to the weather channel and add a weather mosaic channel durring tornados and hurricains

I wonder if in Dish's agreement that they were not allowed to carry Weather Nation or that The Weather Channel would be carried exclusively during the contract term after they put "The Weather Cast" channel on the air to replace them.

In the past Directv had agreements with the local tv stations to show their local new nation wide durring storms. I wonder if dish has any of those agreements in place. It allows directv to show locals from other markets national wide durring major events like hurricains. Directv had the hurricain channel.
Now they plan a mosaic mix channel showing some local new and the nationals.
Dish could do the same thing on channel 100

A few days ago Directv returned to "local" weather feature via zip code...unlike the "local on the 8" (if they weren't showing Prospectors, etc.) which popped up automatically (most of the time) you now press the red button on the remote and get the zip code weather is accessed seamlessly while the main feed shrinks to a pip ...radar to be added "soon". Perhaps not as polished as the WC at least its weather and not Highway from Hell.

I wonder if in Dish's agreement that they were not allowed to carry Weather Nation or that The Weather Channel would be carried exclusively during the contract term after they put "The Weather Cast" channel on the air to replace them.

Wouldn't any clause like that be considered a restraint of trade and possible be considered monopolistic - illegal?
