I recently got a Motorola DSR 922 and i came without the Video Cipher module..
Do I need this module to watch Cband with free to air? or can I do it without it?

i don't think there is any subscription analog left. vcII modules are doorstops now at least they are for the home market. i think some cable companies still get some subscription channels 2 or 3 via videocipher II. i am sure their days are numbered since taking up a whole transponder for one channel is not economically sensible now days. your 922 will work fine without the vc II and can be authorized to receive digital 4DTV channels assuming the ID number is good.

Call SRL 1-800-432-8876 and ask them to check your unit ID number. On the remote push options 6,5 line A is the unit ID number.
