I find more and more my dish parked at AMC 21 (125W) and me watching PBS. It may not be the coolest thing in the world but I think it may be the best thing on TV.

I really enjoyed the new Sherlock Holmes, the Circus, The Tenth Inning Baseball, Nature, Secrets of the Dead, Frontline, etc.

I started recording more and more PBS to watch later. Not only are the stories great but the 1080i looks wonderful. :up

I enjoy PBS myself for "This Old House" and "Ask This Old House" programming. Even though I receive PBS locally, I like the ability to time shift on different schedules on satellite. Speaking of Red Green, I haven't seen it recently on Montana PBS in it's old time slot on Saturday evenings.

Same here! We enjoy watching the British comedies on Saturday nights.

Popcorn,

I am sure that you and many others are familiar with Monty Python and Benny Hill... But, are you at all aware (remember) the comedy show called "The Goodies"?

That was one of my favorites back in the early 80's. The "Goodies" were kind of a cross hybrid of the Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy, Monty Python, The Monkees, Abbott and Costello and Benny Hill.

They were very slapstick in their humor and I enjoyed it, but I have never seen it aired since way back when.

They have a new Saturday night schedule and now show Dr. who at 11 and Red Green at 11:30. I miss seeing Red Green for an hour after the British comedies.

I have never heard of that show, but it sounds like a show that I would really enjoy watching.

If I recall correctly, that show had the running gag regarding "IckyThump"? Some kind of long sausage that was used for the thumping of people. About the time I got into it it disappeared.

Thank you for providing the video clips. It looks like a very funny show. I'll keep an eye out for it.

WOLVERINE: Chasing the Phantom

I just watched this program on NATURE on OETA (AMC 21 @ 125.0°W) - in HD.

This was an awesome show! These 30 pound weasels are really impressive.

Two researchers found the remains of a mountain goat that a wolverine had eaten. They were suprised that the wolverine didn't eat the teeth, a jawbone and one pelvic bone. They commented that the wolverine must not have been hungry that day! Ha Ha. It ate everything else.

One guy lives with wolverines in Alaska and raises them. They showed him out playing with his wolverines and they were frolicking like a kid with a puppy dog!

This show has been on several times already, I finally got a chance to record it. It will probably be on again if you want to catch it. I recommend it.

Most of the programming on PBS HD looks awesome. Now since I have the Openbox S9 receiver I never knew just how much I was missing on this satellite. With my Coolsat 4000 I only received Montana PBS until they too went DVB-S2.

Last night I watched NOVA with my two boys. I get WETA out of Washington, DC - - OTA.

So I said to the boys - - - "Which looks better, this channel or this channel?" They both shouted at the same time. "THAT CHANNEL LOOKS WAY BETTER!"

Of course, it was the satellite 1080i PBS feed that was far superior. :up

Our local "digital" channels here are not as good as the PBS satellite channels that I receive. I tried watching them (the digital OTA chs) today and they were not very good. They kept breaking up on me and it was annoying. I switched back to the FTA sat channels and they were excellent!

I think that I have watched 13 minutes total of OTA broadcasts since they converted to digital. I don't like what they offer very much. I doubt I will be following their programming much in the future. My satellite channels are much better.
