NASCAR 2010 Season

Hallow-Dega this week (Talledega) :)

You know I wouldnt mind someone taking JJ out on maybe lap 5 or something ;)

Or better than that. Remember a few years back Mark Martins steering rod knuckle got hung up on some sheet metal durning the warm up laps when he was warming up his tires and hit JJ. They both went spinning into the infield. Before the green flag. OMG!!!!

I'm a Mark Martin fan. And it was great watching him fly up toward the front. I think he needs to do the same thing this week. Tear the rear of his car up and get that extra downdraft :). I really hope JJ has a bad day at Talledega. Hate saying that. But he really hasn't had a good season imho and should not be #1 in the ranking. I would much rather see Denny Hamlin win the championship.

Me too. :D

If he's had a so so season (JJ) and STILL leads, whats that say about the rest ?

OK ... how so, they are all using the same point standings.

Jimbo
Until 2003 they used the "old" point system that I've been posting from Jayski. The old system rewards the most consistent driver through the year. But since Kenseth won by 90 points yet only won one race NASCAR changed the rules.

Basically NASCAR is saying "do decent in the 1st 26 races and get to the chase. Then your points will be reset to be close to others" so if Harvick had a 2 point lead or a 400 point lead after 26 races because he won lets say 1 race in those 26 and a driver who is 500 points out but is in 10th place and won 8 races (but had 6 DNF's) all of a sudden has a 70 point lead over the guy who lead the whole year....yeah thats fair

I already gave a baseball analogy on it before.

Ok, so your beef is with the way the Chase points set up is, not the people doing the racing ....

It's not RIGGED, it's just not right, I thought you were complaining about JJ, as everyone here seems to hate him, I'm thinking it's because he has won so much, which I can understand, I use to hate it when Gordon won everything in sight and a few years back when Crybaby Busch was winning alot.

That much I agree with.
I thought you were complaining about who was there.

I kinda lost track of NASCAR of late, once the Football season comes into full swing ...

Did anyone see the Truck Race pre-show?

The Speed crew was dressed like Gilligan's Island.
Krista Voda as Mary Ann (and a cute one)
Mikey Waltrip was Mrs Howell
Jennifer Jo Cobb (driver) was Ginger (and a very nice one at that) ;)

no it seems to be rigged. If you watch a race and JJ is way down there (a lap behind or maybe gonna go a lap behind) it always seems that a caution comes out so he stays on the lead lap. Also he is the most BORING driver out there. Dont get me wrong..Shrubby (Kyle Busch) I dont like because he's either cocky when he wins or whiny when he doesn't but JJ is just boring. If he totals the car tomorrow and finishes 30th he'll cut a promo the same way as if he finishes 2nd.

Just because he's not Mr. Personallity, doesn't have anything to do with his driving.

That's what I believe also. If JJ was the best this year then I wouldn't complain. But he's not. As the commentators kept saying all season "JJ couldn't close the deal" (aka win a race). Something would always happen to him.

I still think it a stupid rule to run 26 races, reset the score, top 12 are the only ones that can win the championship and run another 10 races to see who of the 12 gets the most point. I wasn't watching NASCAR before they started the "Race to the Chase" points system so really don't know if that's was worse.

Bowyer wins with Harvick in a beat up car 2nd....yellow on last lap and there was no way they could race back to the line...the accident (pile up) was right before the finish line
