the fact is that the rule exists and Ambrose is actually not the only one to be hurt by the rule. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was hurt by the same rule in 2004 at Talladega and everyone can think about Mark Martin in 1994, whom also was hurt by this rule after he pulled off the track a lap short in a nationwide series race.

While Greg Biffle may have snuck by the rulebook in 2007, NASCAR has made attempts to follow its rules in 2010.

Oh the Biffle race was Kansas

The race was shortened due to Kansas not having any lights.
Biffle decided to stay out and after a late race caution, the race would have to finish under yellow because of the darkness. Under the caution laps, Biffle eventually ran out of fuel and was forced to slow his pace to a crawl. Biffle crossed the finish line in about the fourth or fifth position as the other cars with fuel kept the pace lap speed. Despite not following NASCAR rules, including Rulebook section 10-4 and others that would apply under caution, Biffle was still awarded the win.

Thats interesting, I thought you had to actually be able to cross the finish line to WIN a race, under Caution or not.
If thats the rule, then when they all crash and someone slides on his top and doesn't cross the line he should still be awarded the position he was in at the time of the crash ?

Something is wrong with Kurt. He didnt wreck out his competition like he always does. When Johnson was trying to pass, you can see Kurt try his "crash move" but he failed.

Nice sentimental win, but if he can't win in the Sprint Cup, it doesn't mean a thing.

I forgot the race was on tonight or I would have watched it, just to see how it went.

last night was lucky...he even said his car was no where near where he finished and that he was "happy" for the 4th place finish

A couple weeks ago he was pushing for the chase but last night he didnt have his good stuff. Heck the restart with 8 to go he was in 8th and then all of a sudden he fell off because he smacked the wall and scraped it a good length

UPDATE 2 denied: on the Sirius NASCAR Radio Facebook page, it is reported: "Randy Pemberton says that Mark Martin will move over to Red Bull Racing next year and Kasey will come to Hendrick and race the #5 car next season." Doesn't say which Red Bull car the #82 Scott Speed drivers, the #83 that Brian Vickers is supposed to return to in 2011 or a third Red Bull Racing team.(7-7-2010)
UPDATE: Martin's Business Manager, Benny Ertel, called the reports "aggravating," saying his driver has grown tired of answering the same questions, week after week. "It's the same thing, over and over again," he said. "We walk into the media center and someone immediately raises their hand and asks about where Mark will be racing next season. Mark has answered the question a thousand times and it's always the same answer. `I will be driving the #5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports next season.' That's as simple as it is, but some reporters just don't listen."

It's been awhile since I heard about Mark for next year, was the Kasey Kahne thing for next year or the year after ?

I just presumed that Mark was going to retire once the Hendricks deal was done and focus on his son's racing .
