Home court refereeing. Pierce fouled Johnson with 4 seconds left, and the Daniels fouled while the ball was still in the inbounder's hand.
The second round, even though it's not set, looks highly interesting.
Pacers/Heat- This is gonna be a better, closer series than some think. I think Indiana is gonna push Miami a little more than the Knicks.
Celtics/76ers- Renewing an old rivalry; in all seriousness, I think this'll be a better series than what the banged-up Bulls may have given.
Spurs vs. either LAC/MEM- It's either a rematch of last year's huge upset or a battle of premier point guards.
Thunder vs. Lakers/Nuggets- Either we get the marquee battle of Durant/Kobe or a spunky Denver team.

Yeah except Josh Smith, who continues to be one of the dumbest players in the NBA. The jumper he took in the final minute might be the stupidest shot of the playoffs, so far.

The 2nd foul that Daniels committed turned out to be a very smart play.

The planning for these series can be crazy. IF ANY team would have swept their opponents, they would have had a week off. IF they beat their opponent in 6 or 7 games, then they get 2 days off.
Denver or L.A., whichever wins on Saturday will travel to OKC for a game Monday night. OKC has been resting for a week after sweeping Dallas.
I was thinking that the Lakers were dogging it a bit to go seven games and get Ron Artest off suspension for the next series. Now with Kobe's health problems that might have been a mistake. Denver can still win this series.
I think getting off for 1 week is too much and I have seen alot of team come out flat their 1st game. I think winning in 5 games is perfect. You get approx. 3 days off, and a couple of days to work on team strategy.

i'll admit i'm a tad worried about this series since we have struggled against this team before......
The Pacers are twice as good as the NYKs. BUT, as the saying goes..."defense never slumps". I trust the Heats defense much more than the Pacers.
PG: Chalmers vs. Hill....slight advantage PACERS
SG: George vs. Wade ...clear advantage HEAT
SF: Granger vs. James ...HUGE advantage HEAT
C: Hibbard vs. Bosh ... Even to a slight advantage PACERS
PF: West vs Haslem ...Even to slight advantage PACERS
Bench: Clear advantage HEAT
Intagables: Clear advantage HEAT
Coaching: Slight advantage HEAT
And the "clear intangible" is that Miami will CLEARLY have the 2 best players in this series playing on the same team.
...I would say Heat in 6 or 7.

NEW YORK -- The NBA says a foul against Boston with 3.1 seconds left in Atlanta's season-ending loss on Thursday should have been called sooner, which would have given the Hawks a free throw instead of just the ball out of bounds.
The Celtics' Marquis Daniels held the Hawks' Al Horford as Atlanta was inbounding the ball trailing 81-79. Referee Eric Lewis called a foul, but ruled it came after Marvin Williams had released the ball, meaning it was just a common foul that resulted in another throw-in.
However, replays showed the foul occurred before the ball was passed and should have been treated as an away-from-the-play foul, in which case Atlanta would have been awarded one free throw and retained possession of the ball.
