For this season's TNT and ESPN doubleheaders, I'll try and use some similar analogies.

The Celtics ended their exhibition schedule last night. Here's a look at how their roster shapes up this season:

Starting Lineup
F- Paul Pierce
F- Kevin Garnett
C- Kendrick Perkins
G- Rajon Rondo
G- Ray Allen

Bench (Locks)
F/C- Rasheed Wallace
G/F- Marquis Daniels
F/C- Glen "Big Baby" Davis
G- Eddie House

That leaves three spots open among five players:
Shelden Williams, Tony Allen, Brian Scalabrine, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker (who will open the season hurt).

Your Cleveland Cavaliers Roster.....

Starting Lineup
PG- Mo Williams
SG- Delonte West
SF- LeBron James
PF- Anderson Varajao
C- Shaquille O'Neal

Bench
PG- Daniel Gibson
SG- Anthony Parker
SF- Jamario Moon, Daniel Green
PF- J.J. Hickson, Darnell Jackson, Jawad Williams, Leon Powe*
C- Zydrunas Illgauskas

This is the year we properly addressed depth. I love what GM, Danny Ferry has done with the team in the offseason. Besides the Shaq acquisition, I absolutely love the additions of Anthony Parker and Jamario Moon. Those 2 "stretch guards/forwards" are exactly what we need to help guard against the Orlando Magics of the league. I am also eager to see the 2nd year developments of J.J. Hickson and Darnell Jackson. Both show great promise and hope to be solid contributors off the bench this year. I'm also interested in seeing how Big Z creates mismatches for the opposing teams backup centers around the league.

*Leon Powe will be sidelined for apx. half the season. He is still recovering from a surgically repaired left knee. If he can contribute when he comes back, his tough & gritty game will be very welcome to a team looking to take the next step in the playoffs. Get well soon Leon!

THE World Champions Lineup

Starting Lineup
G-Derek Fisher
G-Kobe Bryant
C-Andrew Bynum
F-Lamar Odom
F-Pau Gasol

Bench
F-Ron Artest
G-Jordan Farmar
G-Sasha Vujacic
G-Shannon Brown
F-Luke Walton
F-Adam Morrison
F-Tony Gaffney
C-Didier Ilunga-Mbenga

We have talked about which teams we feel will be great.

On the other side of the equation- which teams will stink?

Last year, up until February, Oklahoma City had a shot at breaking the single-season loss record

Delonte West Involved in Domestic Incident

19 Action News has reported that West’s wife filed a domestic violence report against him. Per the report:

The two reportedly fought at their apartment when Delonte tried to take her wedding ring off. Mrs. West left their home and headed to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, where she filed a domestic violence report.

Cleveland Police tell 19 Action News there were no signs of abuse or injury. Mrs. West then got on her flight and flew out of Cleveland.

West’s offseason issues have been well documented and the Cavaliers have done the smart thing by keeping most of what they can in-house. Delonte is extremely important to the success of the Cavs quest for their first NBA Championship, but at this point it is hard to know how much/if at all, they can count on the talented guard’s services.

Not only do we not know his status for tomorrow night’s opener with the Boston Celtics, but he is still potentially facing a league suspension for his weapons arrest this summer.

Big Split: Cleveland Cavalier Delonte West's Divorce Drama
Not good. Delonte needs to get his sh*t together...I don't see the Cavs winning a ring without him.

Bring on the Cavaliers!

This is it. Today's the day Cleveland fans have been impatiently waiting for since their early exit from the Eastern Conference Finals on May 30th. Today's the day our Cavaliers are back. This time with greater hope and aspirations!

Make no bones about it, in poker terms, this team is "all in". LeBron is in the last year of his current contract. The high profile addition of Shaq will bring even more attention on a national level. In all, the Cavs have 29 of their 82 games on national television. The stakes are set. Anything less than a Championship will be a disappointment. "Win a ring for the King". That's the motto this year dubbed by the Big Diesel.

No one ever said it would be easy. Cleveland fans know this more than anyone. Last year's 66 win team should be aware of this as well if experience counts for anything.

But first, before we look ahead to the playoff aspirations, today marks the first of an 82 game schedule. The talent around the league is at it's highest in quite some time. The Celtics, Magic and Lakers are the prime obstacles. More than anything, I hope for a healthy and drama free season for all. May the best team win.

To quote The Plain Dealer's Terry Pluto, "emotionally distressed Cleveland fans need some sports therapy". This season has the potential to be the antidote to exactly what ails us. After grande letdowns by our other sports teams this year, the anticipation of Cavs season is at it's all time highest. Finally the day is here!

And now, without further adieu and in the words of broadcast legend, Joe Tait, "IT'S BASKETBALL TIME!!!!!"   :clap:clap:clap

Big Ben starting in Detroit?

“While [John] Kuester isn’t ready to declare who his starters will be, the fact that it’s even up for debate speaks volumes for how much [Ben] Wallace has exceeded expectations thus far in training camp, even though Kuester was already familiar with Wallace from their season and a half together in Cleveland.”
