OK, we all know that the prized free agent for the summer is Lebron James. And yes, we already have a LEBRON thread, BUT after Wade's bombshell of a supposed sit down "summit", WHY NOT open a free agent thread? AND....who is likely to be in this summit and WHO will be joining who and where?

Here are the top Free Agents:

Lebron James
Dwayne Wade
Chris Bosh
Amare Stoudemire
Joe Johnson
Carlos Boozer
Ray Allen
Dirk Nowitski
Mano Ginobli

SO, if we are to ASSUME that Bosh goes with Lebron, the would Amare come to Miami with Wade? ALSO, I do not think that Joe Johnson should be anywhere NEAR the top 5 of James, Wade, Amare, Bosh and Dirk....what do you guys think of this summit.

This get's MORE intriguing by the day...!

Like something of a cross between the Justice League and the Yalta Conference, the NBA's bumper crop of superstar free agents plan to convene a summit prior to the opening of the league's free agency signing period, which could have significant ramification on the future of the NBA's balance of power. For the past couple years, a number of teams (the Bulls included) have been maneuvering to clear salary cap space that would give them the flexibility to go after the historic 2010 free agent class that includes players like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire and Joe Johnson.

Last week, Wade told the media he planned to pow wow with LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Joe Johnson about their plans, which caused many Bulls fans to wince as he also questioned the Bulls' loyalty towards their past greats. Would Wade's attitude hold sway over the other superstars as they choose where to sign? And now the upcoming conclave is growing, as Amare Stoudemire invited himself to the table over the weekend: "I'm friends with LeBron, Dwyane, Chris [Bosh] -- all those guys are friends of mine. So I'm pretty sure they'll call me and we'll talk about a few things." How long before Dirk Nowitzki opts out of his deal and wants to join the party?

So what exactly will the players discuss when they convene their meeting? Will they try to collude and demand to be signed as package deals? Will they play around with the ESPN Trade Machine to figure out sign-and-trades that might allow them to team up someplace without cap room to sign two max contracts outright? The NBA said that Wade didn't violate the league's tampering rules by stating that the players would talk before July 1. But that doesn't mean the owners and league officials might not be crying foul should some unusual demands arise later this summer. As Bulls fans, we can only hope that Wade backs off his unfounded criticism of the Bulls organization. The Bulls did bring Pip back to finish out his career in Chicago and Jordan decided to buy into other teams because the Bulls weren't for sale. The Bulls have invested a great deal and deferred shorter term advancement to shoot for the stars this summer. If they come up empty handed, this post-MJ rebuilding era (already past the 10-year mark) could continue for much longer and have significant long term economic implications on the city.

This is THE CLOSEST that Wade has come to basically saying he will be back.....

I don't know if I should let out a sigh or relief or not....

MIAMI (AP) -- Dwyane Wade insists he still hasn't started thinking about free agency. With four trials now settled in one swoop, the Miami Heat star says that's finally about to change.

Before leaving a Miami courtroom Tuesday, moments after the settlements in a restaurant case and three others were announced, Wade told The Associated Press he has not put together his "wish list" for the offseason, nor has he asked any other potential free agents about their plans.

He did repeat one thing: He wants to stay in Miami, saying "you know that hasn't changed." But to do that, he wants to see roster upgrades, which Heat president Pat Riley will desperately try to make happen starting with the July 1 opening of the NBA free agency window.

Sure they will, and right after that they will sign max deals with the teams they are on right now. I don't see anybody's ego here accepting less than that. (With exception of Bosh, who I believe really wants out of Canada.) I don't see Wade and LeBron taking half the max to play together, or any other combination happening. MONEY is king, despite the lip service about "championships".

Ya know who could afford them all ?

Mr. Mark Cuban :D

If money is the end all be all ....
He could pay all the guys whatever they want.

Isn't there all kinds of exemptions to the salary cap issue ?

IF the HEAT were able to trade Beasley, they could afford TWO MAX players WITH Wade....so technically 3 MAX players.

Well even if this "summit" does not happen, Mr. Stern you wanted the "stars" to be the focal point over teams, this is what happens when "summits" happen on where players go.

Today on PTI the First Topic was about LeBron and how he's overshadowing the NBA Finals.

I don't get it...HOW can you overshadow the FINALS when they haven't even started yet..??!!

Yes, they have mentioned the supposed summit and Lebron here and there....but the ONLY ALL SPORTS news station is ESPN. ANd they have gone out of their way to talk about the Finals. IF the "summit" or Lebron is brought up too much, it is NO ONE but Lebon's publicist fault....and that would be ESPN. They have had their collective head so far up Lebron business that they practical share the same toothbrush!!!!

If LeBron's interview with Larry freaking King, whether or not he's having secret meetings with Justice League America, or whatever else LeBron James related is overshadowing the NBA Finals, then the NBA has much bigger issues.

Agreed the fact that LeBron and this Summitt nonsense overshadows the NBA is indeed an indictment of the NBA.

Culprits-
(1) NBA for marketing Stars instead of teams.

(2) ESPN for thinking that where LeBron sheets is breaking news to be trumpeted from the hilltops and commented on by a pleothra of insiders, hangers on,and friends of LeBron in virtual perputuity..
