San Diego State is staying in the Mountain West and backing out on the Big East - just as Boise State did last month.
University President Elliot Hirshman said Tuesday that the school is pleased to be continuing as a full member of the Mountain West Conference.
San Diego State, a founding member, had committed to join the Big East for football only, with Boise State, starting next season. San Diego State's other teams were going to compete in the Big West.

Well, that should do it.

Lennay Kekua, Manti Te’o’s fake girlfriend, might not be so fake after all.
Arizona Cardinals fullback Reagan Mauia told ESPN that he not only knew Kekua, but that he was close with her family.
***record scratch***
This after Notre Dame athletics director Jack Swarbrick held a press conference – a tearful press conference – Wednesday claiming Te’o had been the victim of an elaborate hoax created by a host of perpetrators who conspired to make Te’o fall in love and subsequently lose Kekua in grandiose fashion.
But Mauia said Notre Dame might have been misinformed. He said he met Kekua in person when he went to do charity work in American Samoa with Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Troy Polamalu and several other Polynesians back in June 2011.

Stranger and stranger....

Those Big 12 numbers are actually higher as it doesn't include tier 3 rights which adds another $5 to $15 million to each schools yearly take.

There is nothing amateur about college athletics anymore.

on average fbs schools spend $92k on student athletes or 7 times more than on non student athletes, with biggest gap being in the sec where $164,000 is spent on student athletes compared to $13,000 on non student athletes. All of the bcs schools spend over $100k per student athlete.

That gap is even higher at Auburn.. ask cam :p

Well at least Beamer finally redid the Offensive side of VT - it was long over due anything is better than Brian Stienspring cept he is a big recruiting tool for them so he's staying on board for that. They return just about everyone on defense and 70% of the offense, both kickers return so it should be a very good team next year.
