NCAA Football 2014 season

Sorry but from what I've seen of LSU they may be done for 2014. Auburn is good but LSU didn't even show up last night
I think everyone has figured that out by now. Like I said before, I don't see a game remaining on the schedule that looks winnable. 0-8 in the conference is reasonably possible. Looks like LSU could be the 2013 Arkansas of 2014. ;)

I think the polls tend to lean on history.

Take A&M for example, beats USCe who obviously has issues, and they won the Superbowl.

The new Superbowl winner this week will be Auburn, who played K State tight and then beat a down LSU team (not a #15 team) handily. It gives people something to talk about I guess.

My philosophy is just keep winning every week, it will all work out after that. Only numbers that matter are what the committee starts releasing late Oct...

That is the argument I keep hearing from a lot of people, i.e. if UK won the rest of their games, they would still not be rated in the top 25 due to previous years. (Argument my best friend gives me daily.)

The problem I have with "keep on winning" is that some schools seem to schedule only pansies, so naturally their records look good. Toward that end, the "Power 5" (or whatever they are calling it) should disallow any out-of-conference games that are not within the "power 5" conferences. Possible solution?

I fully agree that Power 5 should mainly play other Power 5 times. I think it will take time to filter in though. FSU is playing a very good schedule this year, but next year it SUCKS.

Surely STOP playing FCS teams... Take FSU for example, they did schedule FCS Citadel, but that was done awhile back in preparation for facing GT on the schedule (before it changed). Now it looks like a smart idea anyways since GT is doing so well. That being said, I'd like to see them all beef it up.

As far as UK, according to Sagarin SoS, they are a the lowest out of the top 40 teams, BUT they are not far off Baylors SoS who is now ranked highly...

The polls are funny that's all I can say. Lots of teams in the polls because of their creampuffs they beat or the luck they scrapped up to get by a better team. Lots of football left to play and I can only hope we see another shuffle coming like we saw this weekend because it is certainly needed!

Bama sitting in a good spot after the loss considering we still play two ranked above us, and they actually play this weekend. not happy with a loss obviously but it could be worse.

I've lost interest in rankings at this point. They don't mean anything.
Way too much football to play before the real release of the only poll that counts at the end of the month.
