Just because it isn't UV rated doesn't mean that it will dissingrate. Paint will protect, or just watch out for cracks and splits, if the cable is black color, it should last quote a few years, rated or not. White coax is easily damaged by UV.

Unfotunately it is white coax. I got it to match my siding.

Do I need to use a primer before putting an outdoor topcoat?

If you are just talking about a few feet you might use some flexible plastic automotive conduit. It is slit full-length down the side so you can slip it over wire/cable that is already in place.

my c-band dish is hooked up with white rg-6
it has grown mold or something on the outside and is no longer white. kinda grey and green. lol
think i'll stick with black rg-6 from now on

I'd like to simply paint it rather than put automotive conduit around it. Can I just slap on some exterior latex paint to protect it? Does it need a primer coat?
