I have a Panasonic pt ax100u that I actually love. Recently the projector will screen will go off and a yellow light stays on. I unplug it and plug it back in and it works perfect. It started getting worse to now I have to unplug it 3 to 4 times before it stays on! I changed the bulb and cleaned the dust and filter. The picture is brighter, but I still have to unplug it several times before it will stay on.

Any help is much appreciated.

There appears to be a known issue with this projector in an early failure of the automatic iris.

From another thread:
The Panasonic PT-AX100 has had a long standing problem with the iris (which Panasonic attributes to the grease used to lubrucate this component). When the projector first starts up, it put the iris through a self-test. If it does not function as expected, the firmware will shut the unit down to protect itself. You can read all about this problem at http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=762444

Service menu: Press Power button, then left (or right) arrow, up, down, up, down, enter. Typically, the iris problem is indicated in the self-test menu where the iris status shows up as "ok" in red.

Try that. Supposedly the AVS reference shows a fix you can do. Here is a youtube video explaining it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jGwB05_gdk
