Hi guys,
I have a 30'' dish and am able to get signal from G3, Intelsat5 and AMC4. But I can't get any signal from SatMex5 and G13. My zip code is 01864. Is it possible for me to get signal from these two satellites at east coast for a 30'' dish? I don't know the brand of the reciever. The model is DP-987 (printed on the reciever).

I have a 90cm dish and Satmex 5 is still a hard satellite to find, one day its great the next day nothing, the bigger dish certainly helps but I have managed to pull it in many times with my 31" dish!
G13 should be easy enough to find.........

I suggest you have a live TP. entered in the receiver before you start to point the dish and keep an eye out for signal quality only, maybe the other "members" can chip in!

Thank you so much for your quick reply, PSB. Could you suggest a strong TP for each of the two satellites? Or any live TB is good enough. I'm think to try TP19 (12080H, 25635) for SatMex and TP1 (11720H, 26800) since I'm interested in those chinese channels. G13 has a elevation of 16 for me. Hopfully those trees are not high enough to block it.....

Just checked those two TP. will work GOOD LUCK! I just scanned in Satmex 5 yesterday (again), and just re-added G13/H1 right now to my list of satellites!

Thank you so much, Ice and PSB. You're lucky to have a 28.4 elevation. My elevation is 16 for G13 at zipcode 01864. And I have quite some trees in my backyard. My elevations for G3, Intel5 and AMC4 are all 30+ and they're all fine. I don't have a motor and it's freezing outside now. I guess I'll try it one more time the coming weekend.

bin

In MN I guess we luck out. G3, IA5, IA6 and G11 are all around 38-39

When you are dealing with that low elevation, it is tough..but hang in there :)

(I was working on Dish projects yesterday when it was 12 with WC of below zero...what was I thinking ;))
