I'm new to the forums so not sure if this is posted in the right place - my apologies if not. I recently ordered the SD180 dish, polar mount and pole from Sadoun Satellite. I was contacted by them and informed that they no longer have the polar mount but still had the dish & pole. I chose to have them ship the dish and pole, figuring I can get the metal parts and weld together a polar mount for about $75 BUT, before I do that, I was hoping someone on the forum might have an extra polar mount for the SD180 for sale or know where I can obtain one. Your help is appreciated. Thanks!

I don't know about someone having a spare for that particular dish. But there is, IIRR, one member who's got some that may be adapted**. Just can't remember who it was or find the post. Hope they find this post and can help out.
If they don't -
Skyvision has some polar mounts in their clearance section. http://www.skyvision.com/pages/parts2.html
Mike Kohl has a used one listed http://www.global-cm.net/catalog.html

Thanks FaT Air for the quick response! I will check into these. Hopefully one could be adapted for use with the SD180. :)

I think I have 1 of these polar mounts that will fit a 6' 6-panel solid dish. Not sure if it exactly fits the "Sadoun" model but I bet it does. Send me a private message if you are interested.

Welcome to the site FTA4PA.

Should be able to adapt most any spare polar ring/mount to the dish, once you determine how many attachment points the dish has. A little metal fabrication, might not even involve any welding. I used an old polar mount from some kind of old dish I used to have , to mount a 7.5' dish that I didn't have a mount for. Works/tracks the arc just fine. Only real concern is stablilty, and building in an adjustment for declination offset.

Yes, was hoping for that instead of building something from scratch, but it would be a good learning experience if it came to that! :)
