I just set up my first KU installation and it's fantastic. I have 1.2 m Channel Master dish and would like to try my luck with C-Band (I know my dish is smll--this is just for fun & tinkering). Can anyone suggest an inexpensive lnb for an offset dish?

Here are a couple that you might like to try:
http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Order/LNBFS/C-Band-LNBF.htm
the first one has a Universal ku built with the C-band lnbf
http://www.satelliteav.com/shop/item/LN-GEO+CK1
the second one has a Standard ku built with the C-band lnbf
There are others that are C-band only, you can find at either site. And, both sites are Gold Sponsers here at SatelliteGuys.

Can the above lnbfs be used in a 4DTV & FTA slaved receiver setup ??

I don't see why not. The FTA can not slave from the 4dtv. The 4dtv can slave from the FTA. But, I would use a couple of HF (high frequency) splitters with one port power passthrough, to split the signal to the different receivers. With the power passthrough port going to the receiver controlling the polarity/lnbf. The 4dtv has a setting for the "C-band lnbf and ku-band lnbf" or "ku-band lnbf" (if that'a how you use it), but it won't matter if the FTA receiver controls the polarity.

This is what i have set up now.

I need to check for shur but i almost certain my Ku lnb is a Universal one
which works with my 4dtv and fta receiver now.
i use a corotor setup to control the polarity now and was thinking the
lnbf would be the way to go if it would work on my C/Ku band 4Dtv Fta
setup i have to date which is configered the way the diagram shows.

thanks for all your help
