New 3900 Reciever

Ok i just ordered a 3900 reciever on ebay, i have a really really old 4500 now with no jtag support at all, thing is, i hate themenu on it too, its so old and slow, i heard the 3900 was fast is this true?? is it a faster menu then my green ugly 4500 menu that i got right now? also what jtag connecter should i get for this thing to find its boxkeys? Thanks
