New blu-ray players

Ok Samsung has the BD1500 player coming out.Sony has the S350 AND THE S550 players coming out. The BD1500 and S350 are on the same playing field. Let be fair just look at spec not names.

Except for the PS3, I wouldn't say either one of these has the best support histories.

I'm not a great Sony fan, but based on posts on this forum, I suspect they'll support their product better than Samsung will theirs.

I don't know about that. Just ask the BDP-S300 owners who never got their TrueHD decoding capabilities.
