i expect we will lose disney/espn channels for an extended period of time, but not permanently, because neither dish nor disney can afford it. dish can't afford to lose the subscription base, and disney can't afford to lose the revenue with all their huge contracts.

the real question is does Disney even want to do business with dish. just google disney sues dish and see all of the law suit against dish including abc suit over hop skip and jump oh me oh my.

I don't like paying around $4 per month for ESPN now, since I rarely watch it and those 5 guys arguing every afternoon instead of sports coverage is irritating. If they add a ESPN news channel, they will just argue 24/7. I don't watch it, but I go to my local Beef Obradys in the PM and they always have it on.

Being a Vietnam Vet, me and a lot of other vets would like to see the Military Channel in HD. Being in the service is the most memorable time of any vets life.

At the price of the premium channels today, I think all of them should be in HD if they are available.

In the meantime, I would love to see Showtime Extreme in HD as they do the undercards for the Championship Boxing matches on Showtime's main channel. I will admit that the SD on Sho Extreme is good enough to watch them, but it is far away from being HD.

I can completely understand that. I haven't seen any updates about it in HD yet, but I will send it forward for you.

Second request for that channel in HD I have seen today! Thanks for the feedback!

i think disney will be elated to work with dish, but only out of necessity, espn has thrown alot of money into broadcasting rights contracts lately and no contract with would crush the bottom line. a few years ago disney was even involved in porn(or rumored) ,so you know their all about the bottom line. although, while it would never happen, who wouldn't like to see disney/espn go bankrupt. greedy basturds

They'll both be idiots if they cant work it out right at the start of football.

Not to mention the lead up and start of the NASCAR Chase and any baseball games with postseason implications they broadcast in September. Football would cause the biggest backlash but I know quite a few who would back away over the loss of the other two.

They should separate out the ESPN channels and the Disney channels since these are EXPENSIVE per channel and you (or your kids) are either fanatics or you NEVER watch them... If you are a sports fanatic, great: $5/month for ESPN group. If not, then you don't pay it and you don't get it. ..same thing with the Disney channels. The customers get what they want.

If Dish AND Direct worked together as a team to push for that, then ESPN and Disney would really have to look into negotiating.

But as far as channel requests?? Bring back that weather channel that was up for about one week.

5$? I believe at least one espn channels cost that. Why do you think espn wants everyone to pay for it!!!

Look, ESPN went out and spent a crap load of money on tv rights, now everyone is paying for it. Im a super happy I can see all the SEC and ACC I want in the fall and winter? Yes. Does it irritate me the rest of the year? Yes :)

Im over being mad at ESPN, it is what it is. Just like Directv and Sunday Ticket.

Yessir! Generally been content with Dish over the years, but the day I miss a Cup race because of a channel being dropped by Dish will be the last day I'm a Dish subscriber, ETF or not! ;)
