How do I know if my system is grounded???

Look outside where the cable comes from the dish and into the house. There is usually a ground block somewhere.

Follow that green wire, as it should connect to your main electrical ground.

Yep, green is your ground wire but it needs to run to something that is grounded.

Sorry I'm a teacher and during the summer my brain doesn't work very well haha

Do I want it grounded???

Follow the end of the green wire. It should go to grounding rods nearby. Or sometimes it will go to another connection on the side of your house that goes to the ground rods. And yes, you want it grounded for safety purposes.

It was grounded and everything seems to be working now... hopefully it holds up
