Hey all,

So I got the new GUI/DirecTV interface a few weeks ago. Overall, I actually like it. I think it's a bit faster and works well for most things.

BUT, I just found a glaring issue for me that may make me change how I watch things if I can't find a solution. I don't think there is one, but hope I'm wrong...

So I have almost a year of backlogged shows... I've always watched things chronologically most of the time. That is, I go to the oldest recording I have, and watch that show, then the next. It does require a bit of remembering what shows are oldest, but always before I could check quickly by going to the show folder and seeing the record dates there.

Well, as of this update, the record dates are gone unless I go into info for each entry. They're accessible, but this is a slow pain to actually do. Otherwise, it lists the episode name and season/episode. Ie. S6 E1 Title, but no date info. Strangely for a brief period it didn't have this information, so it actually DID list the record date and time for those episodes. Seems like a period of about two weeks it did this, and I don't know why.

Honestly, I prefer it the old way, with date and time, for my purposes. The season/episode details are nice, but date recorded is more useful for me to watch things in the order I prefer.

Is there any way to make it display this as the default?

If not, it is what it is I suppose...but I really wish I could do it the way I used to.

Thanks!

You have found the only way that I know of ...
At least it Is there, there was a time when they did away with the air date ... at least you can go by the S/E if your watching in order.
I prefer to watch in order as well.

Yes, they have screwed up the Play list big time making it much harder to get to anything .... why they decided its better for me to have to scroll ot the right to see anything is beyond me ... it was so much easier to have everything listed up and down where you could see it all at a glance.

Personally, if they only changed the color scheme and left the lay out the way it use to be, I'd have been fine ... except some people would be saying, all they did was change the color and not be happy.

Thanks much for the response. I was able to generate a list of sorts (my own on the computer lol) to help keep me on track at a glance, but it is unfortunate this functionality is removed. I was fine with the interface before as well. I will say, this seems faster on my box, and some of the changes I find more readable...but others like this are just frustrating.

Oh well, I think I can work around it - we don't have much choice in the matter, sadly.

Thanks!
