new hd dvr won,t connect to router

I've tried every configuration possible to get my HD-DVR to talk to my linksys WRT54G router for VOD and no luck. I keep getting code 22,13 and possible 12. It will see the network but it says internet not available. Cat5 cable is good because I've plugged my laptop into it. I went into setting and assigned 192.168.1.104 for IP address and 192.168.1.1 for a gateway. I did an ipconfig/all for dns. I've called direct and no help. Any Idea I'm pretty good with IT. Stuff but this one has me guessing.

Just a thought--have you tried the other RJ45 port?

With your laptop plugged in you did a 'ipconfig /all' then manually set the network setting to use a valid static IP, same subnet mask, same gateway and same DNS. When connected, did you go into your router to confirm it 'sees' the IRD? Can the IRD be seen by your PC?
