My question is should I have my hr20 hooked up to the Internet? I read were it is for future use. Is there any benefits. Any feedback or links would be great for understanding this option. Thanks

Yes, connect it to your internet's ethernet slot because it will be used later this year for DoD (Directv on Demand)! Some of us (CE'ers) are Beta testing it right now! Its awesome and you don't want to miss it when it becomes available to all!
