I recently moved into a new place in West Fargo, ND (58078) and had D* installed two weekends ago. The dish is located on the roof, with no obstructions. I am concerned, however, after reviewing my signal strength on some transponders. I'd like some input if these look correct or not, and thoughts on what could be causing the low numbers. I've replaced the N/A notation with a / on my chart:

My equipment is: HR23-700 and HR22-100 and both are showing similiar results

101:
91, 87, 89, 0, 87, 96, 87, 96
86, 92, 91, 73, 91, 97, 88, 98
90, 0, 92, 87, 92, 98, 91, 97
93, 0, 94, 0, 94, 97, 87, 98

110:

Your OK but Ka bands 99(c) and 103(c) could be higher. 85 to low 90s is normal.

(Mine are between 94 & 99 with a little extra tweaking)

you'll never get a better quality of HD strength than that!

it looks good to me. (im a Directv tech for South Dakota area)

101 looks good. transponder 4 will NEVER ever show a number.
110 looks good.
119 normal
99c dunno why its registering bc we do not have anything on it as far as i know of.
99s normal.
103s dunno why its registering. we do not have anything on that either
103c normal. (this is your High Definition sat)

do you get locals too? if so, from south dakota? if so, you should have 72.5 or it could be installed into your 99 sat.

do you bother to read the posts before responding?

lets see here

I recently moved into a new place in West Fargo, ND (58078)

so that means he's getting Fargo/Grand Forks locals

and they are not doing any installs for 72.5 anymore. Everyone who has locals on 72.5 is getting at least the Slimline 3 LNB (99/101/103)

My tuner shows 101, 99c, 99s, 103s and 103c all with great signals.

To OP: on 103(c) I have all mid 90's. I just had my system installed less than a week ago and I told the guy that my Dish Network was always going out so he dialed it in nicely for me. All my numbers are mid to upper 90's. FYI, I have an HR22.

slimline 5lnbs would be whats in ND. and yes some do get LOCALS from Keloland out of sioux falls, sd living in NEB (including like valentine, NE) all the way to IA (apparently not MN)

must be a MN thing for Slimline 3LNBs.

i get locals with east and west coast. probably why i dont subcribe to them having them on my local channels.

when i tune in a dish, i lock on 101, tilt to 119 and done.. then i start the cable into the house to the desire recievers.

so its not like i check all sats but when i do sat setup.. i make sure the signal is good.

why? Its just wasting LNB's and making tech's lose sleep with aiming that 5 LNB dish. The locals are on 99 or 103 so you dont need 110 or 119

Now if the SD locals are on 119 then yes you need a 5 LNB

what do South Dakota locals have to do with Fargo, ND??

NOTHING!!!!

but lets not get the names mixed up and confuse folks because a member here who goes by "stonecold" is with Directv ;)
