CoolTV on an OTA channel (Here in Tucson [hey greg!]) with 4 channels looks pretty bad. I don't think their source material is very high-quality. Hey it's one more free thing to watch, so I don't complain.

it seems like the larger markets have the crappiest selection of subchannels ;)

exception is like NY, LA, Chicago, Dallas

I should mention we do have other stations that have some other subchannels:

17 WDLI-5 TBN Channels Canton, Ohio
23 WVPX 3 ION Channels-Akron, Ohio
27 WKBN Main CBS and Fox Channel as sub Youngstown (not local, but I receive it like a local)
45 WNEO/49 WEAO 4 subchannels ( SD/HD, Mhz, Fusionand V-Me, Youngstown/Akron, Ohio
47 WRLM-2 TCT Channels Canton/Akron, Ohio (The former WOAC-67)
55 WBNX CW No subchannels..

Also, once our Low Power RTV channel, WIVM-52 (Canton) and translator channels go digital, they are planning several subchannels as well..

Look what they've done to Cool TV here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

They have added an All Channel TV Program Guide and pushed Cool TV off into the corner.

While the program guide is nice, why did they have to add it to Cool TV?

Has this happened to Cool TV on other stations around the country?

Well, Cool TV has disappeared from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Has anyone else lost this channel or is it just a local problem?

I wonder when this will arrive in the other markets. Maybe they decided that there was not enough advertising revenue to have this available (at least in the San Francisco market)?

Looking at what some of you are receiving, I have to STOP COMPLAINING about being out here in the sticks. The county has been converting our local analog repeater stations to digital, and so far it isn't too bad, at least now we have THIS and west feed for RTN/RTV.

I am located half way between Kingman AZ and Bullhead City AZ / Laughlin NV in Golden Valley, 200 miles Northwest of Phoenix, and 100 miles Southeast of Las Vegas.

3.1 KTVK HD ind
3.2 THIS TV
5.1 KPHO CBS HD Phoenix
5.2 CBS Weather Phoenix
7.1 AZTV HD Ind
7.2 RTN/RTV West
8.1 CBS HD Phoenix
8.2 LATV (Spanish)
8.1 PBS Phoenix HD
8.2 Create
8.3 World
8.4 KBAQ Radio 89.5 Phoenix
10.1 FOX HD Phoenix
12.1 KPNX NBC HD
12.2 NBC Weather
14 (analog) ind
15.1 ABC HD Phoenix
15.2 go AZ TV Weather and Traffic
36 (analog) morning spanish/ afternoon and evening America One
61.1 CW Phoenix (no sub channels)

Ocasionally I can also get 13.1 ABC HD Las Vegas but the clouds and winds have to be JUST RIGHT.

Total of 21 channels, and I don't need weather nor traffic from Phoenix.

All in all, not a bad line-up, and with FTA for History, Bio, CW east central and west, FX, FMC, and a few other good channels, like WILD, NAT GEO and Speed, I can get by.

We were suppose to get Cool TV in Minneapolis and about a week or so ago 23-2 did drop to a black screen (was a SD simulcast of CW)....

Here in MN the co-ops that have analog translators upgraded them to digital too...so the rural folks can get more than just the fuzzy nets

When the transition first started, I ran into the guy that was doing the work, complained to him that one channel that we HAD had gone away. He thought that was impossible so he came out to the house and tried for over an hour to get that station. He didn't.

Long story cut short, we bought a new digital TV for the bedroom and that station popped right in, so I called him and let him know.

I guess I made a friend, since then every time an analog station has gone digital, he calls me and lets me know to rescan my TV channels. We only have two analog channels left, and one of those has no plan on going digital, low power and crappy location for his antennae, but it would be nice. It is the one that carries America One.

Photto, not to get any further off topic than already here, but I am curious if you think your new tv has a better tuner or has some other factor that allows it to receive the channel. If the tv's tuner is more sensitive I would be curious to the brand and model.
Thanks,
WT

Originally we were using a Magnavox tuner we got with the card mailed to us, probably the cheapest tuner out there, at the time of purchase they were (I think) about $20 from Wall*Mart and Sams Club, the new TV ($349 at Frys Electronics in Las Vegas) is a Sony 45" and I'm not sure of the model. And he couldn't get it with his set-up out in his truck, and I have no idea what digital TV he was using, he "played" out there for nearly an hour, and his boss had no idea what happened either.

We have a very large commercial tower with several antennae hanging from it about a block away (not LOS to the local TV towers), there was some concern that that may have been causing some sort of interference, but there was no proof, and he hasn't been out to re-test our location.

I agree with that! In the Charlotte area, there a few sub-channels with other content, a couple weather and the PBS ones (South Carolina[get in summer only]: 30.1,2,3 + Local PBS: 42.1,2,3 + State PBS: 58.1.2.3).

We got ThisTV-SD (3.2) about 2-3weeks ago, so that was a plus.
