New Pioneer Elite BDP-52FD

Posted on AVS by a Pio employee, no other news until 9/7 at Cedia. He says all 3 or 4 models this year are Pio, not rebadged Sharps. I would suspect the Elite at least will have a Marvell. I will be picking one of these up for sure, really like the look too.

I hope they've turned things around. Previous models were extremely flaky.

Yeah, I had a 320 a couple of years ago. Pq was gorgeous but it had problems loading some movies and took multiple tries, while the bd35 did them right the first time.

I remember. I had a couple when I had my business, and they didn't last long in my set-up.

Shame too. Hopefully they bring it, will be nice to have Yamaha, Pioneer and Oppo making nice universal players.

Looks like we will have the 140, then two elites, the 52FD and 53Fd. 53 is $499, has the heavier shock proof chassis and the Marvell. I will pick up a 53 in the next few months.
