New Software: Hopper Duo (U990), Hopper 1 (....), Hopper 2 (....), Hopper 3 (....), Wally (....)

On the H3, when you delete a single episode recording from the DVR screen, it then exits the DVR screen. Didn't it used to stay on the DVR screen, even if there were no episodes left for that show, or am I misremembering this?
You are not misremembering this. I noticed it too and it's super annoying when I want to delete a whole series that has over 100 episodes.

On the H3, go to the program you want to delete multiple programs under DVR, press Options on the remote, select manage recordings. You can select individual recordings or there is a select all, then delete.

Actually, I was referring to the single episode recordings of a show. When I want to delete several of those, it now exits the DVR screen after each one. I'm fairly certain, it used to stay on the DVR screen and you had to exit it yourself when you were done. It's just a hassle to have to go back to the DVR screen each time when you want to delete several instances of single episode recordings of a show.

My sister got the new Wally software version, U827, on 12/3/2020. Since she usually gets the new software about a week ahead of everyone else, look for the new versions on your receivers sometime around 12/10.

Since the moderators seem to be unwilling to change the thread title to reflect the software version numbers for all of the receiver models, I have decided to wait until all of those version numbers are known, before I start the thread about the next software version. That way, I can put all of those version numbers in the thread title myself. (Maybe HipKat can post a complete list of the new versions when they become available.) So, please keep replying to this thread even after you get the new software, until all of the Hopper software versions have been posted. Thank you!

I'll keep my eyes open

Hopper Duo's new software version is U992. The Application Software is AN459a. Checking the Available Joey Software versions shown on the Diagnostics screen against the chart provided by HipKat earlier in the thread gives us the following list of new Joey software:

W152 - WJ Access Point
W206 - WJ Access Point
U962 - Joey
U767 - Joey / Joey 2.0 / Wireless Joey
U865 - Super Joey
U670 - 4K Joey
U583 - Joey 3.0

My initial observations about the software download process:

I woke up in the middle of the night and saw the software download progress screen on my TV. I kept dozing off while I watched the progress bar make its way across. At one point, I woke up, and it looked like the progress bar was all the way across. Then I fell asleep again. When I woke up again, the software download had started over again, at the beginning of the bar. It seemed to take a really long time, but it finally made it through the process successfully.

So, the good news is that I did not have to force this update. The bad news is that the downloads are still taking a really long time, and it still takes at least two attempts before the download is successful. (The first time I woke up was after 2 AM, maybe 3 AM. The download (presumably the second download) finished right before 5 AM.)

I guess no Hopper 1 or Hopper 2 users are reading the forum today. Neither "New Software" thread has gotten a reply from users of those models today, as far as I know.

Any word on the Hopper 1 and Hopper 2 software version numbers yet?
These are the newest, posted on our tech portal - I haven't cross-checked

Thanks! I kind of took yesterday's new "New Software" thread way off-topic with discussion about our bet with ChadT41 over the Amazon Prime app availability on Joeys. So, I have now started the new "official" discussion thread about the new software versions:

My H3 claimed it needed to update my software this morning at around 8AM. I figured hot **** I'm going to be the first to get the new software! Well, after all the checks and only one reboot, I'm still on U9.39. :(

Yeah, that seems to be a new bug that is being reported here:

Wait at least another week before expecting any new software releases to the public. This is around the time of year when the engineers get back from their holiday break, and they start releasing new software versions to be beta tested. If the beta testers have not even gotten through with them yet, then it is still too soon to be expecting a new public software release.

My previous estimate (in another thread) was "mid-January." So, I came close.
