Recently, I reported in the Rabbit Ears forum that KGKC-LD, a low power religious station, had switched affiliations to Telemundo. According to the uplink report and www.dish.com/locals, KGKC is now available to Dish subscribers in the Kansas City MO/KS DMA. It is listed as available in HD only.

I think it's interesting to note that Dish never carried our local Univision affiliate, KUKC, and now with the dispute, they likely never will.

Familiar with the term "Putting the Screws" to someone?

And you know what...if/when DISH does settle w/Univision (I think DISH WILL eventually settle w/Univision...but may be awhile...) KGKC can just as swiftly find themselves off DISH & (maybe) replaced with KUKC - OR nothing else, & KC viewers can go back to viewing the national Univision feed as they did before. Since both stations are LP's & are NOT O&O's, nor owned by a large station group, NEITHER has anything to force their carriage on any TV providers platforms.

I hope the same thing happens in the Cleveland, Ohio market. Two of our local stations are rumored to be up for sale: WQHS (the current Univision affiliate, which is currently off Dish) and WBNX (the former CW affiliate, now independent). I am hoping that one of them will get flipped to Telemundo, and that the new owner of WQHS will bring that station back to the Dish lineup.
