Newbie Shoutout

Hey Guys.Newbie here in Georgia.I have a Coolsat due to be delivered tomorrow and just picked up a Direcpc 35 x 20 dish for $40.00 this afternoon.I am very anxious to get involved in this hobby.I have installed many DTV & Dish systems over the years and I have been a DTV subscriber since 1995.I have been reading up on this site for a couple weeks and I have to say this is by far the best FTA site I have seen.I can't believe the amount of great info supplied by PSB,Iceberg and others.Hope to chat with you guys soon.Do you think I am on the right track with my equipment ? Thanks.

Nice dish for FTA! I have a few myself and they work great for FTA, I know signals are a lot better in GA. so you are off to a flying start! Installing a FTA system is only slightly harder than a DBS system and we are here to help you whenever needed!

If you are using the LNBF on the DirecPC dish make sure to set the LNBF L.O. to

10750 when you are setting it up in the antenna setup screen on the receiver, choose a satellite you are intereted in, enter the details of a LIVE channel and point the dish. I am sure you have read you will be watching for signal quality only at that point, signal strength means very little at this point, in fact do not even look at at!

Would have to sat IA-5 @ 97w as your first stop, then on to G10R @ 123w........

Ok.Been playing with the Coolsat 4000 and Direcpc dish for hours.I thought I would have figured this out by now considering I have installed at least one hundred DTV & Dish Systems.I can't find the sats PSB suggested I look for.Do I need to change the skew on this 35 x 20 direcpc dish for each sat I am looking for ? I did find one sat earlier with a FOX station out of Tulsa and some Religious and International programming.

has some strong stuff. I can get some of it with a modifed 18" dish.

Also a SF-95 in line signal meter help me a lot. $10 with s&h on ebay.
