i just got voom - 2 days ago - the first day it was installed i got these OTA channels - cbs, nbc, fox, abc, upn, - but i didnt check my signal strength and signal power for each channel. well yesterday when i went home - it was drizzling a little and i could not get abc or upn. my question is what should my signal quality and signal power be at to recieve my OTA locals when it really rains hard? My satellite signal quality is 90. what is the difference between signal power and signal quality? bear with me on these issues i just got voom.

From my personal OTA experience...

I did not get my OTA problem-channel (CBS) when my signal quality was 48 Quality/42 Power, but I DID get the channel after I upgraded to the Radio Shack 15-2160 and I got a signal quality of 58 and a Power of 56.

So, IMHO, I would put the floor for drop-out free OTA service at 55.

Just my two cents.

I experience some problems with ABC on rainly days also. I think the station strength is low compared to NBC,CBS,FOX, and UPN. I upgraded to a Channelmaster 4228 which solved most of my problems that I had with ABC.

Call Voom and get them to upgrade your OTA Antenna.
