Voom HD Networks’ Rush HD acquired a package of 14 action-adventure sports events from Apparent Gravity Media, sponsored by Red Bull North America Inc.
The Rainbow Media Holdings LLC-owned HD network said the events range from paragliding and mountain hiking to freestyle motocross and kayaking.
Coverage kicks off Sunday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. with the Red Bull X Alps, a 500-mile international paragliding and hiking adventure race from the Austrian Alps to Monaco. Other events include Red Bull’s Divide & Conquer II, a one-day adventure relay across the mountainous terrain of southwest Colorado, airing Sunday, March 5 at 8 p.m.; and Red Bull King of the Air II, a world-class kit-surfing event from Hawaii Sunday, March 26 at 8 p.m.
“We are excited to deliver such an in-depth perspective on some of the best athletes in each field, all shot in high-definition at the most gorgeous spots from across the globe,” Rush HD vice president of programming Mark DeAngelis said in a prepared statement. “This new series reinforces Rush’s commitment to delivering and to continually growing our library of high-definition programming.”
