Texans haven't proved a thing until they win in the playoffs and beat the upper echelon teams consistently 
It's not the weather. In fact, if it's Brady vs. Manning in bad weather, I like the Pats chances no matter where the game is.
However, everything being equal, Denver is one of the top four HFA in the NFL (Seattle, Green Bay and Foxboro are the others) in my opinion.
The way the NFL has such parity these days,there is no one team that is a shoe in to win the SB.The Falcons and Texans are good but,as the results showed yesterday either can be beat.Not just by the upper tiered teams either.In either conference any of the 6 teams that make it in have a legitimate shot to win it all.Even going through Lambeau field isn't such a daunting task these days.

This isn't Atlanta- Houston WON a playoff game last year.
We've seen this story over and over.
Last season in the NFC, we were prematurely anointing either Green Bay/New Orleans/San Francisco as champs, yet the Giants crashed the party.

It's also typical that a New playoff team on the block will lose that first playoff experience and do better next time around .... If they get there again, which I think Houston will.

Houston won in the Playoffs last year ... so this year at least they have that experience going for them, we'll have to see who they end up playing.
True that the Texans won a playoff game last year, but there's one HUGE caveat: Their QB has never won a playoff game, and he has laid goose eggs in his high profile games (ie nationally televised games) to date.

When you look at why that first New England SB win was a huge upset. we somewhat forget with passing time how good that Rams team was heading into SB XXXVI:
14-2, including a perfect 8-0 on the road
Kurt Warner won his 2nd NFL MVP with 4,830 yards (2nd most ever at the time) and 36 TD passes
Marshall Faulk- 1,382 yards and 12 TD's on the ground, 765 yards and 9 TD's recieving. 3rd straight Offensive Player of the Year
Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce- combined 2,469 receiving yards and 13 TD's
Scored 503 points, 3rd straight years they went over 500 points
Allowed 273 points, 7th fewest.
A points differential of +230, 1st.
4th fewest yards allowed, and over 6,600 yards gained offensively (1st overall)

A couple of things about SB 36 that I find so ironic:
1. Rams WR Ricky Proehl caught on NFL Films during pregame warmups: "Tonight a dynasty is born"
2. The Greatest Show on Turf was smashed in the mouth by the Patriots defense
Eleven years later....
1. Ricky was right, but it wasn't what he had in mind
2. The Patriots of the last six years have become those Rams, and have won a LOT of games, but have zero championships to show for it. Teams like the Ravens, Jets and especially Giants have used that same formula to beat the Patriots in the postseason.
