NFL 2025-2026 Season

Not sure what problem you guys think is so bad that needs to be fixed here.

When forward progress stops, the play is stopped.
No it is not. Every game has plenty of times where a players forward progress is stopped until his teammates arrive to start pushing him forward.

What, exactly, is the issue? What is needing to be fixed here?

And forward progress has been brought up a number of times related to this - which is why I mentioned it.
What needs to be fixed is Pushing (or Pulling) players ... period ...

Ala the Tush Push as 1 play, but it happens all the time now ...
Yesterday I saw a play that would have been called stopped a few yards short of a 1st down, till 3 other players got behind the pile and pushed them to a 1st down ....

It's a judgement call, it's not instantaneous. Many games also have plays where a play has been blown dead sooner than it should. When forward progress is determined to have been stopped the play is blown dead.

What I don't understand is what you guys are trying to solve with this, other than probably being upset your team didn't benefit from a call at some point and have held a grudge or something against it, it doesn't make any sense to me.

Why? Pulling remains illegal, so why are you conflating or not understanding the difference?

This will certainly be it's final season, not because of the pushing but because of how difficult it is to officiate and the issues that's caused. Will be interesting to see how they do it.

Why was this bad, unless it was against your team? Again, what are you trying to fix here? Nobody seems to be able to answer that other than the seemingly unspoken 'my team sucks at it' or 'my team was the victim of it'. My team just got blown out in the last Super Bowl with it and I'm not whining like this, lol.

Good thing it's football and not rugby then.

So, if it's okay for linebackers to Push the ball carrier, why is it illegal to help another linebacker up in the air to block a field goal? I mean, it's a Team Sport, right? What better example of Teamwork? However, doing this is considered a Unsportsmanlike.
