This thread will be for when we pick each of the NFL games every week instead of having 17 threads on weekly picks.

In fact here we go:

Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Pro Football Pickem - Join a Group

I have created 2 groups, I encourage you to join them both, at least the straight up.

For straight picks:

Group - 52298
Password - sportsforum

For picks vs the spread:

Group - 52299
Password - sportsforum

Let me know if you have any problems joining.... join at any time during the season... discuss/disclose picks here... should be better/more fun than just posting things every week. We can post results/standings here too to discuss.

signed up. thank you.

I'm in too.

My name? SabresThePicker.
of what???

First points are posted for the spread'em league... anyone not know how that works?

The easiest way to put it is 'if i gave the underdog that many points, would they win?'. If you then picked the favorite anyways, they have to exceed the number number of points, also referred to as beating the spread.

Edit: though I see only sparkman has joined the spread league so far :(

Can someone post a list of games? All sports sites are blocked here at work.

Saints over Vikings- Defending Super Bowl champs have won their opener every year since 1999.

Dolphins over Bills- Buffalo already can't stop the run- Ronnie and Ricky could have a field day.

Lions over Bears- my upset special. Stafford shows how rapidly improving he will be.

Titans over Raiders- Tennessee can't dig themselves into another slow start.

Bengals over Patriots- I don't trust the New England defense anymore.

Giants over Panthers- They haven't forgotten 41-0.

Steelers over Falcons- Dixon will play a lot better than most think he will.

Browns over Buccaneers- Cleveland's making some progress- Tampa's not.

Broncos over Jaguars- MJD may be banged up, and I don't trust the Jags passing game.

Colts over Texans- Until I see them prove otherwise, I pick Indy to beat Houston.

Cardinals over Rams- Sam Bradford won't have the fairytale starts than Sanchez and Ryan had.

Packers over Eagles- I'll take the proven QB over the unproven one.

49ers over Seahawks- Seattle looks VERY shaky.

Cowboys over Redskins- McNabb's offensive weapons won't be as good as the ones he had last year.

Jets over Ravens- The home opener goes to the home team.

Chargers over Chiefs- KC has to prove to me they can stop San Diego on defense. In two meetings last year, they gave up 80 points to the Bolts.

The KC offense is the bigger question IMO, I think people overlook that in their picks that are FOR KC and cite Tamba Hali having a big night against a weak LT with McNeil's holdout still unresolved.
