The playoffs begin Wednesday night. The schedules will be released later tonight (after the completion of the Sens-Bruins game).

Western Conference
#1 Chicago vs. #8 Minnesota
#2 Anaheim vs. #7 Detroit
#3 Vancouver vs. #6 San Jose
#4 St. Louis vs. #5 Los Angeles

The only matchup set in the Eastern Conference is #3 Washington vs. #6 NY Rangers. The outcome of the Sens-Bruins game will determine the seedings and matchups for the other series.

Here's the scenarios for tonight's Sens-Bruins game:

IF the Senators win in ANY method
#1 Pittsburgh vs. #8 NY Islanders
#2 Montreal vs. #7 Ottawa
#3 Washington vs. #6 NY Rangers
#4 Boston vs. #5 Toronto

IF the Bruins win in REGULATION
#1 Pittsburgh vs. #8 Ottawa
#2 Boston vs. #7 NY Islanders
#3 Washington vs. #6 NY Rangers
#4 Montreal vs. #5 Toronto

IF the Bruins win in OT/SO
#1 Pittsburgh vs. #8 NY Islanders
#2 Boston vs. #7 Ottawa
#3 Washington vs. #6 NY Rangers
#4 Montreal vs. #5 Toronto

Thanks for sharing and should be some good series in both conferences :)

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm concerned with the Bruins and their habit of blowing third period leads. This obviously MUST stop if they want to go anywhere.

From a league standpoint, I'm keeping an eye on the Capitals. They seem to be playing their best hockey right now. Out West, I can see the LA-STL winner going deep into the playoffs.

Offhand, I like the Wings chances against the Ducks. Go Wings!

The Bruins have three possible opponents depending on what happens in tonight's game. Here's my order of preference:

1. Bruins win in OT or shootout tonight- they would draw Ottawa whom they have owned for several years

2. Bruins lose tonight (yes, LOSE)- they would have a lower seed (#4 instead of #2), but they would draw Toronto and the Maple Leafs are another team the B's have dominated in recent years. This is an end justifies the means scenario

3. Bruins win in regulation- they would draw the Islanders, a team that I admittedly don't know a lot about. From what I can see, they are young and hungry. You know how the old saying goes......the devil you know......

I just took a look and don't see the Stanley Cup Playoff schedule posted anywhere. Never mind...I just noticed Boston and Ottawa have a game tonight. Regardless, since the playoff picture in the West has been finalized does anyone know when Detroit-Anaheim are going to play and on what channels? Yep, it's once again time for us East Coast Wings fans to start playing our lack-of-sleep Western Conference playoff run - one final time. ;)

Wings start TUESDAY night, which seems Odd to me as they are usually started on Wed and Thurs.

It was in the Det News today.
I'm gonna guess that it's on FSN D, possibly NHL Net or NBC Sports/VS, if your out of the Detroit area.

Hopefully they'll finalize the playoff schedule and the programming guide will download to my Tivos early tomorrow morning.

NHL Network is having a playoff scheduling show tonight at 11 ET.

Thanks for sharing but wonder if it will have dates and times or just reviews of the series :) Here in St.louis rumour is Kings vs Blues is going to start...Series is expected to start Tuesday at Scottrade Center, where Blues have won six in a row.

Good game between Ottawa and Boston tonight and after Bostons comeback looked like they were going to pull it out but Ottawa pulls it out with 2 late goals :)

Well, here starts Wings Fans spring ritual of staying up way too late to watch our team play on the West Coast. I love my team, but staying up 'till 1:00 AM watching the game and getting up for work at 4:00 AM is not something I enjoy. Thank goodness we'll be in the Eastern Conference next season. :)
