[ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FITKK8"]Amazon.com: D-Link DGS-2208 8-Port 10/100/1000 Desktop Switch: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31hjB0%2BRNNL.@@AMEPARAM@@31hjB0%2BRNNL[/ame]

The netgear DGS-2208, an unmanaged 8-port gigabit switch. Good architecture, good throughput, great reviews. Might give a little bit better performance even in an all 100Mb/s network vs a 100Mb switch, although I wouldnt toss a good working setup thinking this will solve mrv splat problems or magically resolve any mrv bugs.

Its $32 after rebate, shipped from Amazon. ZipZoomFly and Newegg have it for a few bucks less, but they charge tax to some folks. Thats stupidly cheap for a very good switch. A lot of the people who are giving this 4 and 5 star reviews paid $80-100 for it not that long ago.

The five port version (dgs-2205) is also on sale at a variety of places for $22.49 after rebate.

I've got four machines that'll do gigabit, so I'll get some definite benefit.
