I have noticed the recent ads for the film coming mout the 17th and it no longer says it will be playing in Imax 3D or real d. I have seen the posters in the theather lobby and ads saying it was to be shown in 3D now all ads do not mention 3D and the IMAX site does not show any mention of 3D. Does anybody know the reason for the change?

They weren't able to finish the conversion for Part 1 in time. It will still be playing at IMax. Part 2 will be in both 2D and 3D. I expect the BD for part 1 to be available in both.

Part 1 re-release in june 2011?

I would think that they will re-release part 1 in 3D just before part 2 opens in july.
WB invested a lot for the conversion in part 1 and surely wont make it up on
BD3D sales with the small number of sets out there at present

Possible, but I wouldn't bank on it. The cost to convert is a drop in the bucket compared to ticket sales. BD sales are also very high for this series.
