I purchased an XM Xpress Receiver and Boombox for my father, hooked it up, and ... nothing. Not a single blip on the antenna reading --- either satellite or terrestrial.

I called XM, they went through their script. Finally, she advised me to return it as it may be defective. Dejected, I drove back home (four hours away), had a hunch, hooked it up: it works. *sigh*

My father lives in a rural area but I noticed that his neighbor has a small TV satellite dish. I wonder, therefore, if I need a stronger antenna?

I went online and found the Terk XM6 XM Radio Home and Commercial Weatherproof Antenna. I noticed that others who purchased this also purchased the Delphi Signal Repeater and the Delphi Signal Repeater Antenna.

Will the antenna do the trick? Do I connect it to a coaxial cable and then to an adapter which connects it to the boombox? Also, do I need the Signal Repeater and the Signal Repeater Antenna, too? I want him to be able to move his boombox around but I don't understand the difference between the two.

Lots of questions, I know. I am in unfamiliar territory. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
