On DirecTV's website they have the manuals for their new receivers, the D10 series of receivers. None of them have Dolby Digital outputs. I thought D* was going to continue offering Dolby Digital outputs on non-TiVo receivers, but this doesn't seem to be the case. If you're paying for the replacement service and your current receiver has DD, what is D* going to provide you with? Or will the new PVR receivers D* is rumored to have going to include DD?

If you need DD maybe they'd cut you a deal on a DVR. Otherwise, you'd need to contact someone locally to repair the box, because D* cannot choose the make/model of a replacement box and so it would likely not have a DD out.
