It appears that the HD that was rumored to launch this week will not be launching this week.

More as we know it.

Thanks for being SatelliteGuys!

I wonder if the blunders at 61.5 has anything to do with this.
Probably their one and only uplink engineer has been rather busy. ;) ;) ;) Seriously, I don't think it's proper to call hardware failures on Echo3 a "blunder". At least it's not a blunder by Dish Network operations, but rather by the manufacturer (whose name escapes me at the moment.) Even that is a stretch for such an old sat at EOL.

To be fair, E*3 is 13+ years old and has been a workhorse. When launched it was supposed to have a 10 to 12 year service life. E*1 was retired as back-up at 77° and E*2 died in orbit and was a total loss not too long ago.

Here, let me get this one out of the way...

What???? No ESPNU HD AGAIN? Come on!

Two posts later...
Where are the Full Time HD RSNs? Dish is soooooo far behind DirecTV. What a crappy service...

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Why can't DISH use the spare satellite up there to add more hd this week? I mean it is there to back up the failing sat at 61.5 , so why not use it?

Since I am still pointed at 61.5, I don't get the new HD anyway. Still waiting for the letter from Dish since I have a MPeg2 508dvr I am still using. Just like others, I want a free receiver upgrade.

thats a new idea

Thats a new idea lets start to remove the SD channels nobody watches and replace them with some new HD . Has this ever been done before. Lets look to the future and hope for HD only channels. ;)

OK... if it isn't a satellite problem, what's the deal?

C'mon, this happens all the time. Maybe the channels were never intended to be launched tomorrow, maybe things changed at the last minute. Point is, don't count on new channels unless Dish announces them (which they generally don't before-the-fact). Even then, things can happen. :)

What about the people that don't have HD TVs and HD receivers? No channels for them? They also pay for the service.
