thinking of switching from Dish. My question is this, with their HD/DVR box, does it record HD channels in HD, or does it convert them to SD for playback?

Also, is their HD box a HD STB? Can I plug my antenna into it to get locals in HD? Or am I SOL on that?

Yep, it records what you see, so if the channel's HD, the recording is too. Beware, HD programs take up a LOT of space on the DVR's hard drive.

I have the 6412 and no, it does not have an off-air ATSC tuner. You'll have to add a separate tuner for the OTA stuff.

Do they offer a box with an OTA tuner in it? Or does anyone know if this is in their plans?
