What ever happened to the "Parasite Eve" series?

Looks like a PSP sequel of PE is coming this year to Japan, nothing announced for the states yet - [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_3rd_Birthday"]The 3rd Birthday - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:The_3rd_Birthday_Bride.jpg" class="image"><img alt="" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/9a/The_3rd_Birthday_Bride.jpg/220px-The_3rd_Birthday_Bride.jpg"@@AMEPARAM@@en/thumb/9/9a/The_3rd_Birthday_Bride.jpg/220px-The_3rd_Birthday_Bride.jpg[/ame]

jealousy just hit me :)....I am playing UFC 2009 I am 9-1 as a fighter in my career and 1-0 on unranked play online with 1 ko....I am also playing bioshock for the third time.

PS3 playing Far Cry2 ... it ROCKS. Can't put it down. Only 50% completed and been playing since February, a little bit here and there, sometimes all day. Great graphics, love the open world, go where you want when you want. There are organized tasks, but you don't have to follow in specific sequence, now have to rush thru. Plenty of Safe houses to save your game as you're going so when you get killed, you don't have to go back too far.

Bought inFamous so waiting for UFC from Gamefly... they've been pretty slow lately :(

Next purchase will be NCAA 10 and then Madden, I hope.

*uses restraint*

I will never buy another Madden game. I want 2k back.

See, I'm OK with that opinion, I have problems with it becomes baseless bashing about it being the same thing every year when it clearly isnt, and all arguments to the contrary are dismissed without any consideration.

Online franchise looks to be fantastic.

All that being said, may not be buying anything soon, we're going into penny pinching mode to get enough for a down payment to buy our first house before this $8000 tax rebate bridge loan program thingy goes away in November.

NFL2k for the dreamcast, made EA step up there game with madden. It was the first 128bit football game that was realistic. If Saga had some balls to stay in the hardware business and EA didn't purchase NFL rights. NFL2k9 might been a better game than madden.

Then again, maybe not.

EA respects that franchise for sure, in the producer blogs about forming the pocket in Madden 10 they compare it to the 2k series because that's a part of the game they nailed.

What a load of crap. EA has abused their NFL exclusivity more than Ike abused Tina. They TOTALLY rested on their laurels after they nabbed it and made such few REAL changes to the formula that it was borderline insulting. They knew that 2K Games were making a better product than them and rather than trying to counter with making a better game or countering with price, they totally shut them out of the market. That is the exact OPPOSITE of what our economy is based off of. That's the kind of crap I'd expect to see from the Chinese government, not a gaming company. And the Madden series was still dominating 2K in sales, so it's not like they were an immediate "threat."

Sorry but whenever someone brings up the 2k/EA thing it just drives me mad. I loved NFL 2k5 so much, and the fact that the series is gone (All Pro is not a worthy substitute), just rubs salt in the wounds.

:up:up

EA thinks they can slap a new person on the cover and call it great. Now I have heard that the next actually had some changes from other sources than EA so we shall see, but I still won't buy it.

The biggest change EA has made to the Madden Series in the past 5 years was the introduction of Madden for the Wii with motion controls. Sadly they weren't executed as well as they could be. If they can get motion plus working with it, it could be pretty damn sweet in the future. Sadly you still have to deal with graphics that would embarrass a Xbox launch title..

Have they even put online leagues back in yet? That was the dumbest thing they ever did to the series was to take that out.

Playing KillZone2 online, 2 or 3 times a week since I bought it the day it came out. Beat the campaign a week or so ago.

PS3 demos:InFamous- great, IMHO
UFC- I am not into UFC either, but this game kicks arse...literally.

Except none of this had anything to do with my post :p

Literally, this year, they posted a youtube video of 2k's pass blocking or whatever (in a hurry so cant find it real quick) in their producer blog and showed how Madden now the new procedural tackling/blocking system does something similar. Also this year they've reworked all of the ratings, introduced online franchise (back after 8 years), relaunched their website to allow for stats from online franchise and dynasties, among other things. None of those are small or easy changes.

This should be the most improved Madden in several iterations, but to say they've done little over the past few years is to make yourself look silly. They've done a ton now that they've been on these platforms for a bit. I am all for being dismissive because you don't like a franchise, but they've made a lot of improvements in each edition for the last few years.

Madden NFL - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
You have to admit though that the entire NFL videogame genre has suffered in the past 5 years due to EA's exclusive deal. Take 2K sports out of the picture, what about if SCEA had access to the NFL and we could have an in depth game like MLB: The Show? We've been stuck with the same stale franchise for the past half decade, and the NFL videogame experience has suffered as a result. Imagine if you only had one sports game provider for ALL of your sports. What inspires any developer to be innovative when they know they can put out sh*t in a box and still sell over 2 million copies each year?

And excuse me for not giving EA props for doing something that 2K did nearly FIVE years ago. Maybe in the next Madden game they'll put in an innovative feature called First Person View.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand (before EA does the same thing to this thread as they have done to sports game in general) nowadays I'm going old school and jumping through the Thousand Year Door.

No I agree, I want competition, I just don't want people to be so dismissive about Madden is all, it's an awfully comfortable bandwagon and most won't even try and form any kind of rational argument like your last post or two.

Played a game of franchise tonight after posting about it, feels clunky after playing so much NCAA lately.

Also played a game or two of NBA: The Inside on PS3... game is kinda clunky itself.

I really wish Gamefly would send me UFC.
