Ok... Now they Have Me Pissed! (Dish Audit Police)

If your receivers are not at the same location as indicated on your account then they do not care about that. People move. If you dont have the same mailing address though and the mail gets returned then they will shut the account off so that you will call in and give them your new one then they will turn the receivers back on.

Dishnetwork audit treated like a criminal

I get a call from my wife today at work saying our service had been cutoff. I proceed to call Dishnetwork and I am given another phone number to call. They insist before my service can be turned back on that I need to go to each receiver and give out numbers displayed on each receiver. I inform them that I am not there to do this and my wife is unable to do this with a baby at the house. Long story short, they will do nothing until I get home tonight to spend 20 minutes of my time taking care of their needs. I am treated like a criminal, told we don't care about you as a customer, and when I try to speak to someone in retention I get an answer that no one is available to talk to you now. I have been a dish customer for 5 years, spend $150.00 a month in serivce and it comes down to this. Is there anyone at dish that can help me. Any recomendations would be welcomed

You have multiple receivers not plugged into a phone line.

This triggers a red flag at Dish and the Audit Gestapo come after you.

Do not have a wired phone line

That is correct I do not have a wired phone line, I use a cell phone for my primary phone line. I am not a criminal, pay my bill on time. I expcect to treated as such. All I am looking for is someone to talk to at dish that will treat me like a customer, and resolve these issues. I spent one hour on the phone being lectured to by the "Dish Audit Dept". I cannot believe this happens.

Of course you're not a criminal, but there are criminals out there. The audit is a deterrent to keep people from stealing satellite service by selling activated receivers to their buddies or giving them to other family members. Knowing that there's a chance of being caught keeps the bandits to a minimum. You're paying the price for not having the phone line, since that's what Dish uses to avoid having to audit you.

There are multiple threads here and over at DBSTalk about Audit team nightmares.

The bottom line is no one can/will help you until you call the Audit team standing infront of your receivers and give them the info they are asking for. They might say thanks after you are finished and return your service.

Just go to Directv and get 4 receivers that you own. Charlie is preparing DISH for sale to the highest bidder and you only count as part of the 12 million subscribers. Comcast/ Time Warner still treat their customers better than the Audit Team.

yeah I see this sale thing happening because it's more money for Charlie lol When I signed up with Dish they said I didn't need my boxes connected to a phone line unless I want PPV order with my remote

With cable you do not need a phone line connected. I heard that DirecTv shuts off the additional receivers past the first if they are not connected. You can't win for losing.

Passed my audit big deal

Well got home today called the audit team and went through the next 25 minutes being treated like a sub human. I was told upfront not to put down the phone or talk to anyone else, that would invalidate the test. I spent the next 25 minutes going from one receiver to another. In the end I was told I passed and the reason for the test was to save customers money, etc and to be a good little customer in the future by getting a land line and connecting all of my receivers to it. I do not have a land line and I am not going to get one. During this whole process my service was cut off today and I missed programming I record everyday. So not only was my evening ruined by having to deal with these guys, but I do not get to watch my recorded programs tonight. At least now I can call back when I go to directtv and tell these guys what they can do with their service. This is a joke.

I don't blame you for being pissed one bit. My service never got shut off because I called them back in time. I guess when they lock your account they keep the ones active that passed. I am thinking that maybe two receivers were still active that I told them to shut off and caused me to fail. I don't see how they can fail you and lock an account for not giving them information for receivers that are not even active.

I have been with dish nearly 6 years

I have been with dish nearly 6 years $150.00 a month, that did not seem to bother them one bit. The more I think about this the madder I get. So it does not matter how long you have been with them. They do not seem to care. Worst customer experience I have ever had in my life. Like I said they are all a joke.

I have sent dish an email no response yet

I talked to an account specialist last night and of course they were very kind. Basically they could not promise that this would not happen again. Also sent the email to ceo@echostar.com, no response yet. I asked them to put into my account notes not to call me again on an audit. The account specialist did say that they had many complaints about the audit group and that this was causing problems.

If you put into the notes of your account to not call you again on an audit they will IGNORE that and be more likely to call you. If they read those notes that will probably make them even MORE grouchy towards you and they will probably be down your throat like you've never seen before. They will consider that an extreme red flag and wonder why you would have a CSR note that on an account. I wouldn't be surprised if they just shut you off and not let you get the service turned back on.

I really don't care what dish does at this point

They can turn me off, I really don't care. I wanted that in the notes to let them know not to try it again, if so, don't bother calling just turn me off, anyway it does not really matter, because now on my time I am going to turn them off and switch to directtv. I have been a customer for 6 years at $150.00 a month. I should be the kind of customer dish wants, I will upgrade to any new programming, hardware etc. so when they introduce new options I would be the first to call. I will not allow any company to treat me as if I was a criminal. I pay for the service and I am the one in control not them. So if I threw them a red flag so be it. I know I am only one in 12,000,000, but it is my money and my business and I have a right to give it to whomever I want. I will take my $150.00 a month I spend on Dish, $100 a month I spend on high speed internet and cable and give it to someone else. Companies do not have a right to treat good customers as idiots and criminals, and the more I think about it the angrier I get. So they can take their service and do whatever they want to, I could care a rats blank.
