On Demand Question

We missed episode one of at least a dozen shows we want to watch. Going to "On Demand" I am finding that almost none of these shows are available for episode one. NCIS, NCIS LA, NCIS NO etc. CBS is not the only network causing me grief. Is this a network issue or a DirecTV issue? Not that blame really matters since I am effected either way.
